Hoverboard Comparison: Genesis vs Swagtron

Hoverboards have become one of the most popular forms of electronic transportation available. A decade ago, they were unheard of, but suddenly it seems that people everywhere are enjoying the thrill of this exciting new mode of transport.

Hoverboards blend the best parts of many different vehicles from the past while simultaneously bringing us into the future. Over the years, many improvements have been made in hoverboard technology and interest is expanding rapidly. With this rise in excitement, many electric vehicle manufacturers are creating their own models, making it a more difficult market to navigate.

In this article, we did a hoverboard comparison of the differences and similarities between the Genesis Gemini hoverboard against Swagtron’s X1, T1 and T3 hoverboards, so that you can make the best-informed choice about which hoverboard is right for you.

Genesis Hoverboards

Genesis’ Gemini Hoverboard is one of the best models on the market. It is made from durable, high quality materials and has an impeccable design. It also leaves most competitors in the dust with an incredible maximum speed of 12 miles per hour!

The Gemini can go up to 10 miles on a single charge and includes great features like Bluetooth speakers for listening to music and LED headlights.

The powerful lithium ion battery has also earned the UL 2272 safety certification for worry free fun.

The large tires are equipped to handle hills and uneven ground with a smooth ride unlike any other, and is available at a price that is much more affordable than other hoverboards with less features.

Swagtron Hoverboards

Swagway X1

The Swagway X1 was Swagtron’s first hoverboard model. The Swagway also comes with a UL 2272 certified battery.

The Swagway is slightly outdated today, but the price has been reduced since it was first introduced to the market. The specs available online are limited, so there’s a big question mark when it comes to charging time. If you’re looking for something to use frequently, long term, or as a form of reliable transportation you will probably want to go with a more updated model.

The T1 Swagtron hoverboard is the second model produced by Swagtron. It has many upgraded features that are standard for hoverboards on the market today. It has a UL certified battery as well, and is self-stabilizing for a smoother ride.

It weighs less than the Swagway and is made from more durable materials. The T1 has a good range of 7-12 miles, however the biggest drawback is its slower speed. At only 2 to 8 mph, it may take a while for you to get around town.

  • Price - $399
  • Product Weight – 22 pounds
  • Speed – 2 to 8 miles per hour
  • Charge Time - 1 hour

The T3 is the latest model hoverboard from Swagtron. It is made from scratch-resistant polycarbonate and boasts Bluetooth capabilities, LED lights and a fast charge time as well.

The design on the T3 is very attractive, much more so than the Swagway, and comes with a strap for easier handling. Again, it has a good range of around 7 to 12 miles, but it tops out at a relatively unimpressive 8 miles per hour.

  • Price - $499
  • Product Weight - 22 pounds
  • Speed - 8 mph
  • Charge Time - 1 hour
  • Maximum Weight Capacity – 220 pounds
  • Range on a Single Charge - 7 - 12 miles

The Results

The Swagway seems to be the least feature-packed hoverboard on the list, and should probably not be considered by the serious hoverboard user. Though the reduced price is attractive, the specs are probably inferior compared to more recent models like the T3 and the Gemini.

The T1 has many great benefits in comparison to their original Swagway. The improvements make it much more valuable, although the slower speed could be a deterrent for some.

The T3 model has included fun extras like Bluetooth technology and LED lights, but it still only goes 8 miles per hour maximum.

The Genesis Gemini Hoverboard has all the latest features found in any hoverboard. Though there is a slightly longer charge time, it is still short in comparison to most electric vehicles, and can easily be charged while at the office or on a long lunch break. Considering the Bluetooth speakers, LED lights, impressive design and fast 12 mph speed, it seems to pack the most value into a more affordable package.

At only $379, it costs less than Swagtron’s T1 and T3 hoverboards. The Genesis Gemini has many advantages over Swagtron
