The Rise of Sustainable Electric Transportation

The revolution is here. Gone are the days of gas guzzling Hummers and black cloud emissions. The people have spoken, and sustainability is their desire.

While environmentalist cries went largely unheard for the better part of the 80s and 90s, there is no longer room for doubt about the affects of climate change, and industry is adapting accordingly. Electric transportation has a huge role to play in our response to climate change. Every driver that goes electric plays a part in the battle against the dangerously rising CO2 emission levels.

In terms of electric transportation much of the hype has thus far been focused on electric cars. The electric car was invented in the late 1800s, but did not rise to prominence until a century later. The 1990 Clean Air Act Amendment and the 1992 Energy Policy Act sparked a renewed interest in the old technology that was once deemed no match for gasoline and other fossil fuels. The simple fact that electric cars are better for the environment has made them a subject of great interest to innovative thinkers and entrepreneurs working towards a sustainable future.

Electric Personal Mobility

We at Genesis believe in sustainable energy and have taken up the mantle as the leader of electric personal mobility. Our suite of environmentally friendly electric scooters, e-bikes, hoverboards, and electronic skateboards offer sustainable alternatives to the gas fueled ancestors of our product types.

Nations across the world have realized that due to the increasing costs and depleting reserves of fossil fuels that electric vehicles are the future of personal travel.

Aside from the obvious benefits of electric personal transport, such as: conservation of fuel, decrease in greenhouse gas emissions and smog, and preservation of the ozone layer; the cheap operating cost of electric (compared to gas) is another benefit of embracing sustainable mobility. The energy cost of electric cars, scooters and e-bikes are on average one-half percent the operating cost of their gas-powered counterparts.

According to the UK Electric Bike Company:

E-bikes are classed as Zero Emissions Vehicles.   A recent study in America came to the following conclusions when comparing e-bikes with other forms of transport, they are:

  • 18 times more energy efficient than an SUV/ 4x4
  • 13 times more energy efficient than a saloon car
  • 6 times more energy efficient than rail
  • About equal impact to the environment as a conventional bicycle

Given the numerous benefits of personal electric mobility, it is surprising how slow the transition to these alternative modes of travel have been in America. This is not the case for the rest of the world, where e-bikes and scooters are a normal part of everyday life for most commuters – especially in urban areas where smog, pollution, and parking are serious concerns.

Below is chart from Bloomberg Businessweek illustrating the growth of e-bike sales in 2016.

Are you Ready to Embrace a Sustainable Electric Future?

When it comes to electric vs. gas, there is little debate as to who will come out on top in the end. Electric transport is cleaner, more efficient, less noisy, cheaper to operate, and does not require the extraction of fossil fuels (which can lead to environmental destruction and displacement of native peoples, not to mention to dangers workers face in mining and oil extraction processes).

To help make your transition into the electric future as enjoyable as possible, Genesis has a designed a unique product line of electric scooters, e-bikes, hoverboards, and electronic skateboards, available in various colors, models, and styles to fit your personal aesthetic preferences. And all our products are foldable or compact enough to carry, providing you the added value of ridding your life of the dilemmas of parking.

Making the world a better place has never been more fun.  Join the movement. Join Genesis.

This is the exact movement that we need to be involved in. Simple products that carry such huge benefit. “It is hard to imagine how much sensibility is wrapped up in such a small package.”-Joe Kyser
In the United States this comment is not unfounded. Hopefully companies like Genesis can continue to provide suitable, stable, methods of transportation as we progress into the future of sustainable electric travel. I personally am glad to be part of this movement and more than happy to purchase Genesis products. I purchased a skateboard, with future plans of buying a scooter and eBike, and will be using just that and some public transportation as we document daily life and the commute to work ect. The final broadcast of this documentrary of sustainable electric transportation will appear across the web. We are proud to use a company out of the United States. Furthermore proud that they have such a stance and will fit right in. Very excited to start this project and thankful for finding such outstanding looking products from an American Company. Looking forward to the future purchases as well.
